About Pittsburgh Secular Freethinkers
This group will hopefully become a collection of free thinkers that enjoy philosophy and the search for truth. As most free thinkers (Deists, Agnostics, Aetheists, Universists, Skeptics,etc.) know, we are in a minority. Accepting this truthful world view and life path can be difficult. It can be sobering and scary to understand that we might not be as special (or "chosen") as the ignorant majority thinks we are.
As we know, traditional fundamentalist religions very likely offer false hope to those in need - therapy for a mind and heart that fears life and especially fears death. However, do these religions encourage the advancement of mankind, or do they hold us back from reaching our full potential as a global human race?
Our goal is to establish the steps necessary in mind, action or policy to allow free thinking to be balanced without prejudice, and enlighten those that seek true knowledge.
Join us to discuss these and other important questions. Join the never-ending search for truth - truth reached by way of natural evidence and reason.
